Join my kimono workshop in Hannover!!

🇩🇪 Dieser Workshop ist in zwei Sessions aufgeteilt. Im ersten Teil lernst Du, wie man einen Juban (襦袢, Kimonountergewand) und einen Kimono darüber perfekt anzieht. Egal, ob Du kompletter Anfänger bist oder schon Erfahrung mitbringst, diese Session stellt sicher, dass Du Dich selbstständig korrekt und bequem in diese beiden Gewänder einkleiden kannst. Wir werden in diesem Workshop detailliert auf alle Punkte eingehen, die wichtig sind, den Kimono an Deinen Körper anzupassen.

In der zweiten Session lernst Du, wie man einen Obi (帯) als Ginza Musubi (銀座結び) bindet. Ginza Musubi ist eine einfache und elegante Art, einen Obi zu binden. Es wird auch im Detail gezeigt, wie man Obiage (帯揚げ) und Obijime (帯締め) perfekt bindet.

🇬🇧 This workshop day will be split into 2 sessions. In the first session you will learn how to dress yourself in juban (襦袢, kimono undergarment) and how to put the kimono on top of the juban. No matter if you are a complete beginner or already have some experience in kimono dressing, this session will make sure that you can dress yourself correctly and comfortably. We will have a lot of time in this immersion course, so we will be focusing on important points when putting on a juban and kimono, so it fits your body perfectly.

The second session will teach you how to tie an obi (帯) in a ginza musubi (銀座結び). Ginza musubi is a fun, easy but elegant obi arrangement to learn. We will also deep dive in how to tie obiage (帯揚げ) and obijime (帯締め) perfectly.

• Juban (襦袢): nagajuban (長襦袢) or hanjuban (半襦袢) with susoyoke (裾除け)

• Kimono or yukata

• 3 ties (koshihimo, 腰紐), optional: 1 kourin belt (コーリンベルト)

• Collar stiffener (erishin, 衿芯)

• Kimono oder Yukata

• 1 - Was, wenn ich nicht alle nötigen Accessoires habe? (What if I don’t have all the items?)

  🇩🇪 Bitte besorge alle oben aufgelisteten Accessoires, um am Workshop teilzunehmen. Es wird einen Verkaufsstand an der Location geben, aber es ist nicht garantiert, dass alle benötigten Sachen zum Verkauf sind. Deshalb bitte ich darum, alles vor dem Workshop zu besorgen. Wenn du Fragen hast, wo man verschiedene Accessoires kaufen kann, schreib gerne eine Email an patriciazarnovican@gmail.com .

• 2 - Was kann ich unter dem Juban tragen? (What should I wear under juban and kimono?)

  🇩🇪 Traditionell trägt man als erstes Untergewand die hadagi (肌着) oder auch hadajuban (肌襦袢) genannt unter dem juban. Musst Du aber nicht! Du kannst auch gerne ein einfaches Baumwollunterkleid oder Tanktop mit Shorts anziehen. Als BH ist entweder ein Kimono-BH, Sport-BH oder kein BH empfohlen.

  🇬🇧 The underwear one wears under the juban (襦袢) is called hadagi (肌着) or hadajuban (肌襦袢). If you don’t own one, you can wear a shift undergarment or tank top and shorts as underwear. As chest support, I recommend a sports bra, kimono bra or no bra.

• 3 - Ich hatte noch nie einen Kimono an. Kann ich trotzdem am Workshop teilnehmen? (I’ve never dressed a kimono by myself. Can I still join the workshop?)

  🇩🇪 Klar!! Dieser Workshop wird der perfekte Start sein. Meine Assistentinnen und ich werden sicher stellen, dass Du gut mithalten kannst und viele neue Dinge lernst.

  🇬🇧 Absolutely!! This workshop will be perfect to start your kimono journey. My assistants and I will make sure that you won’t be lost.

• 4 - Ich habe schon Erfahrung im Kimonoanziehen. Wird der Workshop zu langweilig sein? (I already have some kimono dressing experience. Will the workshop be too boring?)

  🇩🇪 Definitiv nicht! Ich habe über 6 Jahre Erfahrung als Kimonolehrerin und werde sicher stellen, dass du viele neue Kitsuke-Techniken mitnimmst. Es gibt immer etwas Neues zu entdecken.

  🇬🇧 Not at all! With over 6 years of experience as a kimono teacher, I will make sure that you will learn many new skills for kimono dressing. There is always something new to learn about kimono.

• 5 - In welcher Sprache wird der Workshop gehalten? (What language will the workshop be held in?)

  🇩🇪 Der Workshop wird auf Englisch und Deutsch sein. Aber da ich auch Japanisch spreche, kannst du Fragen in der Sprache stellen, in der du dich am wohlsten fühlst.

  🇬🇧 The workshop will be held in English and German. If it is more comfortable for you, feel free to ask questions in Japanese.

• 6 - Kann ich an nur einem Teil des Workshops teilnehmen? (Is it possible to attend only one session?)

  🇩🇪 Ja. Bitte gib uns vorher Bescheid. Der Preis für den Workshop ändert sich in diesem Fall aber nicht.

• 7 - Wird auch das Anziehen von Männern gezeigt werden? (Will there be male dressing, too?)

  🇩🇪 Nein. Dieser Workshop wird nur das Anziehen von Frauenkimono behandeln.

  🇬🇧 This workshop is for female dressing only.

• 8 - Darf ich Fotos und Videos während des Workshops machen? (Is it allowed to take pictures and videos?)

  🇩🇪 Ich bitte darum, keine Fotos oder Videos während des Workshops zu machen. In der Pause und nach dem Workshop werden wir Zeit haben, auch zusammen Fotos zu machen.

  🇬🇧 Please don’t take any pictures or videos during the sessions. There will be opportunities to take pictures with me after the workshop.
