Join my kimono Workshop in Barcelona!!

🇪🇸 Este taller estará dividido en dos sesiones. En la primera parte aprenderás a vestir el juban (襦袢, ropa interior) por ti mismo y como ponerse el kimono. No tiene importancia si eres principiante o ya tienes alguna experiencia en vestir el kimono, en esta sesión nos aseguraremos que puedes vestir por tu cuenta correcta y cómodamente.

En la segunda sesión os enseñaremos como atar el obi (帯) con el nudo ginza (銀座結び, ginza musubi). Ginza musubi es un nudo divertido, pero elegante para aprender. También nos centraremos en como atar en detalle el obiage (帯揚げ) y el obijime (帯締め) de forma perfecta.

🇬🇧 This workshop day will be split into 2 sessions. In the first session you will learn how to dress yourself in juban (襦袢, kimono undergarment) and how to put the kimono on top of the juban. No matter if you are a complete beginner or already have some experience in kimono dressing, this session will make sure that you can dress yourself correctly and comfortably.

The second session will teach you how to tie an obi (帯) in a ginza musubi (銀座結び). Ginza musubi is a fun, easy but elegant obi arrangement to learn. We will also cover in detail how to tie obiage (帯揚げ) and obijime (帯締め) perfectly.

• Juban (襦袢): nagajuban (長襦袢) or hanjuban (半襦袢) with susoyoke (裾除け)

• Kimono or yukata

• 3 ties (koshihimo, 腰紐), optional: 1 kourin belt (コーリンベルト)

Q&A - Preguntas y respuestas

• 1 - ¿Qué pasa si no tengo todos los accesorios? (What if I don’t have all the items?)

  🇪🇸 Por favor prepara todos lo necesario listado más arriba. Habrá una tienda disponible en el evento, pero no podemos garantizar que estén todos disponibles. Por eso, asegúrese de tenerlos de antemano.

  🇬🇧 Please prepare all items listed above to attend the workshop. There will be shopping opportunities at the venue, but it’s not guaranteed that all listed items will be available. So please make sure to prepare the items listed above beforehand.

• 2 - ¿Qué debería llevar puesto debajo del juban y kimono? (What should I wear under juban and kimono?)

  🇪🇸 -Debajo del juban (襦袢) nos ponemos el hadagi (肌着) o hadajuban (肌襦袢). Si no disponéis de uno, os podéis poner ropa interior o una camiseta de tirantes y unos pantalones cortos. Para el pecho, recomendamos un sujetador deportivo o para el kimono, sino sin sujetador.

  🇬🇧 The underwear one wears under the juban (襦袢) is called hadagi (肌着) or hadajuban (肌襦袢). If you don’t own one, you can wear a shift undergarment or tank top and shorts as underwear. As chest support, I recommend a sports bra, kimono bra or no bra.

• 3 - Nunca me he vestido con un kimono. ¿Puedo venir al taller igualmente? (I’ve never dressed a kimono by myself. Can I still join the workshop?)

  🇪🇸 ¡Absolutamente! Este taller es perfecto para empezar a vestir el kimono. Mi asistente y yo nos aseguraremos que no te pierdas en ningún momento.

  🇬🇧 Absolutely!! This workshop will be perfect to start your kimono journey. My assistants and I will make sure that you won’t be lost.

• 4 - Ya tengo experiencia en vestir el kimono, ¿Este taller no será demasiado aburrido para mi? (I already have some kimono dressing experience. Will the workshop be too boring?)

  🇪🇸 ¡Para nada! Con más de 6 años de experiencia como profesora de vestir kimono, me aseguraré que aprendas nuevos trucos y maneras de vestir. Siempre hay algo nuevo para aprender.

  🇬🇧 Not at all! With over 6 years of experience as a kimono teacher, I will make sure that you will learn many new skills for kimono dressing. There is always something new to learn about kimono.

• 5 - ¿En que idioma se impartirá el taller? (What language will the workshop be held in?)

  🇪🇸 El taller será impartido en inglés y español. También hablo japonés y alemán, pregunta en el idioma que te sea más cómodo.

  🇬🇧 The workshop will be held in English and Spanish. But I speak Japanese and German fluently, so feel free to ask questions in a language that's comfortable for you.

• 6 - ¿Es posible atender solo a una sesión? (Is it possible to attend only one session?)

  🇪🇸 Si, pero porfavor háganoslo saber de antemano.

  🇬🇧 Yes, please let us know beforehand. However, there will be no discount on the ticket price.

• 7 - ¿Habrá como vestir en kimono para hombre? (Will there be male dressing, too?)

  🇪🇸 Este taller es solo para vestir kimono para mujer.

  🇬🇧 This workshop is for female dressing only.

• 8 - ¿Estará permitido hacer fotografías y vídeos? (Is it allowed to take pictures and videos?)

  🇪🇸 Rogamos no hacer fotografías ni vídeos durante la sesión. Habrá oportunidades de hacernos fotos juntos.

  🇬🇧 Please don’t take any pictures or videos during the sessions. There will be opportunities to take pictures with me after the workshop.
